manipulation permission
i put my hand in horse butts for a living. i am not this type of manipulator. but makima is! and she has means of understanding character weak points that i’ll need help identifying (with your permission, of course)! makima has perfected her understanding of human behavior much like a psychologist who uses their knowledge for evil, to the point that she may very well pick up subtle information that can be used to interact with other characters and shape herself into what they might need at the time. is your character lonely? looking for a mentor? do they crave a maternal figure? are they just horny and never had a girl, but want to? this could show in every day interactions, and while i may pick up on a few, makima would pick up . . . more, lol.
to make everyone’s life easier, i've prepared a little form that you may fill out below! thanks a bunch if you do, since it could definitely help with the flow of things! if your character wouldn’t show their weaknesses so easily, that’s perfectly fine and makes the “chase” much more fun, so please feel free to put that down, too!

drink my pepsi and call me a bitch
what is your character’s weakness? what do they desire and/or fear the most?: anna is scared of being left alone, but part of her feels like she deserves it anyway. she carries an incredible amount of guilt within her over the ways that she's abandoned other people in her life (primarily her little sister). even with the renewed lease on life provided to her by recollé, she strains against her own confines and blames herself when she can't figure out the answer to something just by swinging a sword around. the one thing that traumatizes her badly enough to make her dissociate is, you're gonna fuckin love this one makima, losing control of her own body and will. the one thing she's always been able to believe in is that she's the person in charge of her own life, but if suddenly her body stops listening to her or if she starts getting any kind of, like, programming or whatever that makes her act differently in a way that she can't stop—or worse, in a way that she doesn't know is happening—then she will fucking lose it. she would rather die than let that happen to her.
can this be loosely deduced based on assessing character behavior, or will this require more digging?: it's much easier for her to talk about her trauma as, like, things that happened to her that she pretends to have moved past. she doesn't easily open up about her sister without some very specific prompting, and even then she won't usually talk about the guilt. it would be much easier to notice this kind of thing when she's around other people, and especially when she's around people who are significantly younger than her, like the gaggle of teenagers she's friends with. she protects what she loves so fiercely because she doesn't want to lose them again.
bonus: anna smells like cigarette smoke and machinery. she doesn't hide the fact that she's an android at all, but it's still noticeable about her. A2's soul doesn't have a scent to it, necessarily, but i am fully in support of whatever's most narratively interesting here, so if makima can still tell she's got two souls somehow then i'm fine with it!
